Elena Hasheminejad is a Public Health Nurse with the York Region Public Health. She has worked on the Substance Use Prevention & Harm Reduction program since 2013, with a primary focus on the cannabis portfolio. Elena has a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing from Ryerson University and is currently doing her Master's in Education. She teaches part-time at York University in the Nursing program. Elena is the co-chair of OPHA's Cannabis Task Force Group and the provincial community practice group - The Ontario Public Health Collaboration on Cannabis. She has had the opportunity to participate in federal and provincial consultations and legislative testimonies for the legalization of cannabis.
